Honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to feel like a local rather than a tourist. You’re literally across from Hyde Park — I mean, you can see the trees from most windows — but you’re also tucked away on a quieter residential street that doesn’t get the chaos of, say, Oxford Street. Paddington Station is maybe a seven-minute walk, which makes airport transfers ridiculously easy. What I really love though is that you’re close enough to Notting Hill to grab dinner at one of those cozy gastropubs, but far enough from the weekend crowds that you can actually sleep in.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but cleverly designed — you know how London hotels can feel like shoeboxes, but this one actually makes smart use of the space. The bed was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. There’s decent storage space, which sounds boring but trust me, after living out of a suitcase for a few days, you’ll appreciate having somewhere to properly unpack. The tech setup is solid too — plenty of charging ports and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes.

The restaurant downstairs serves breakfast that’s actually worth getting up for — proper coffee, fresh pastries, and they do a full English that doesn’t feel like it came from a heat lamp. The evening crowd tends to be a mix of business travelers and couples (apparently couples really love this place, which makes sense given how romantic the park views can be). There’s a small bar area that gets lively but not rowdy, perfect for a nightcap or catching up on emails with a glass of wine.
